Every year on November 17, the world unites to raise awareness about premature births โ a global challenge affecting 1 in 10 newborns. Prematurity is the leading cause of death in children under five, but with the right care and support, preterm babies can thrive.
This yearโs theme, โGive preterm babies a strong start for a hopeful futureโ, calls for immediate action to improve health outcomes for these vulnerable infants. From regular prenatal checkups to skin-to-skin care, every step counts.
Letโs support families, spread awareness, and advocate for quality care everywhere.
