Embron’s got another very special plant to show off today: Nepenthes villosa x hamata!
We can’t grow pure villosa here (summer temps are just too warm) but the cross seems more reliable than either parent…and wicked looking. Though still small it’s starting to make 4 inch traps that have all of the heavy ribbing of villosa, with all the dark-aging color of hamata. Undoubtedly, will become one of the best showstoppers here when it matures…and it just got repotted so hopefully that won’t be too far along.

Nepenthes hamata x attenboroughii.
I don’t think much more really needs saying; this small plant already looks amazing both newly opened and aged to black, and is almost certainly going to become a toothy giant in a few years. Definitely likes cooler weather tho, it’s gaining size only after fall has moved in.
