For a month now, a mystery has occupied my mind.

My coworker has a pizza cutter on his desk, seemingly unused.

As a result of everyday messiness of work life, it tends to slowly slide closer and closer to my desk, menacingly.

Then, I will inevitably get tired of sitting around all day and raise the height of my desk to a standing height. This causes the pizza cutter to catch and make a haunting clattering noise as it is pushed back on my colleague's desk again.

What is it for?

Last week, I finally found out.

Turns out my colleague runs a monthly hackathon, where he and his students get together to work on the "nice-to-haves" for the software that they develop. He low-key bribes them with free pizza to spend a day of their time not directly on research, but on making their tools that are the result of their research better in other ways.

Legendary. Hashtag Life Goals.

The only nearby pizza delivery service operating at that time is apparently rather unreliable when it comes to cutting the pizza.

Hence the pizza cutter.

I feel like it needs to have a name. Any suggestions?
