Under the #Pedicabs (London) Act 2024, drivers and operators must be licensed and vehicles meet safety standards, including regular checks, licence identifiers and a ban on external audio. Drivers will need enhanced DBS checks, appropriate driving credentials, medical clearance and to meet English language requirements. #TfL also plans to cap fares from October, with a proposed £5 base rate, £1 per minute and up to £3 per extra passenger. Licences are expected to become mandatory for drivers and operators from 30 October 2026, and for vehicles from February 2027, following a transition period.
