in all forms? just some definition?

I know some leftists use the word differently, but most Americans refer to it as "majority rules" which by its very nature is oppressive to the minority, not to mention antithetical to individual rights.

I'm a dreamer too. I believe in #panarchy ; the idea that every man has a right to choose his government as he has a right to choose his religion. Democracy is certainly less offensive in such way, though I'd probably choose a government that only allows work-place democracy.

Many believe that the more local the government the easier it is to keep in check. My experience, however is quite different. The UN has never come knocking at my door, the local police who have nothing better to do than threaten life or treasurer for my grass being too long. Not to mention anyone who's lived in an HOA is well aware those which govern least let the power go to their head.

@ybaumy @FutureHistories thanks!
I did not find a lot about #Panarchy in the political context either. If you come across something interesting, please let me know. 😺 On the other hand, the concept of multiple co-existing systems is quite popular in #anarchist contexts ("world in which many worlds fit", bolo'bolo) regardless of the term.

My #TEDx #Canberra on #TransformativeChange #panarchy #moths #LivingDemocracy and more is now live! I’d love thoughts and feedback, particularly from #EcologicalDemocracy folks, but anyone, really :-)

Socio-ecological system | Wikiwand

A social-ecological system consists of 'a bio-geo-physical' unit and its associated social actors and institutions. Social-ecological systems are complex and adaptive and delimited by spatial or functional boundaries surrounding particular ecosystems and their context problems.[1]

"With code, we can create systems within systems (within systems), which make up the layers of a technological and sociological stack. According to the codebase, these layers express different properties, which gives rise to a dizzying array of possibilities. Such possibilities amount to five areas of transformation in how human beings organize themselves."

Disrupting the Five Temples of Power

"Yes, there will be setbacks. And things are likely to get worse before they get better. But the Decentralist revolution is a djinn, and Satoshi Nakamoto opened the bottle back in 2009." ~ Max Borders
