I'm curious, for trans lesbians, did you have a coming out as a lesbian or did everyone assume you liked girls anyways?
I've been watching cis folks talk about coming out as bi or lesbian, but I wonder if being trans overshadows that for us or what it was like for other trans people.
For me, Glenn came out as trans first. So when everyone asked if we were divorcing and we said no, they asked what that meant, and I shrugged and said "pansexuality, I guess, for me?"
Though his Catholic relatives demanded he divorce or I transition "so it wasn't gay."
We said no =)
(I did later transition. And when asked if Glenn was going to divorce me for it, he got to shrug and go "Pansexuality, I guess, for me, too."
But me being trans was the bigger issue this time. And, weirdly, those Catholic in-laws and had found transphobia and weren't happy I had taken their advice.)
