Si chiama Werner Degiampietro la vittima della valanga che questa mattina si è distaccata sul versante nord del Cermis, in Trentino, e lo ha travolto. Aveva 46 anni, era un poliziotto del servizio soccorso piste della Val di Fiemme. È stato estratto dalla coltre di neve dalle squadre del Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico, allertate in quanto l’uomo non era raggiungibile telefonicamente da ore. Sul posto intervenuti anche i Carabinieri della compagnia di Cavalese.
A lanciare l’allarme i colleghi della vittima, che non hanno visto Degiampietro tornare dopo che era uscito per un’escursione di scialpinismo. Hanno chiamato il numero unico per le emergenze degli operatori del soccorso piste della polizia intorno alle 12:00. La centrale unica di emergenza ha chiesto l’immediato intervento dell’elicottero. Già al primo sorvolo erano stati individuati sia la valanga che gli sci dell’uomo.
La valanga si è distaccata sul Cermis a 2.370 metri sul versante nord del Castel di Bombase. Degiampietro era residente di Ziano di Fiemme, in provincia di Trento. Il tecnico di elisoccorso e il personale sanitario sono stati sbarcati sul posto e hanno provveduto a disseppellire subito il corpo. Non hanno potuto fare altro che constatare il decesso del 46enne. La salma della vittima è stata trasportata a valle in elisoccorso dopo il nulla osta ottenuto dalle autorità per la rimozione.

The helicopter rescue technician and medical personnel were landed on site and immediately exhumed the body. They were only able to confirm his death. The body of the 46-year-old was transported downhill by helicopter after obtaining authorization from the authorities for removal.
