#Toronto grew up around #OsgoodeHall’s garden. It remained an oasis of green for hundreds of years as wooden houses, then concrete and steel towers went up. It could not survive Doug Ford’s destruction and #JohnTory’s indifference. It was the last stand. We must do better when choosing our next Mayor and Premier.

A spokesperson for the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) says Metrolinx began cutting down historic trees at Osgoode Hall in Toronto on Saturday before the Ontario Superior Court could hear an injunction to prevent their clearing.

#Metrolinx started clear cutting #OsgoodeHall’s 200 year old trees hours before the injunction hearing at 2PM. This Ford led government has no respect for the citizens it represents nor the laws it supposedly governs.
Councillor Josh Matlow was able to reopen the adjacent city sidewalk for which the province didn’t take out permits, stopping the tree cutting.
