Haven't posted an #OrganicFarm update in a few weeks.

We've been doing a LOT of weeding. Too much weeding.

Radishes and spring greens are finished, turnips and salad mix are producing well, and tomatoes and cucumbers will be ready soon.

Summer squash went into the ground last week, winter squash goes in next week.

Come Monday we will be trellising, and trellising, and trellising

Oh yeah, and we're seeding our fall transplants already.

My summer job is bringing in some new followers, so it's time for a new #introduction post.

Hello! I'm Axiom / Jay, and I currently work as an intern at an #OrganicFarm! I've been passionate about #farming and #agriculture my whole life, and I anticipate the bulk of my posts will be work-related until I go back to my day job in August.

Today we used the tractor to transplant onions.  

I got to ride on the back and drop onions into the ground.

The tractor only moved at 0.8 MPH, but with two of us working, we were able to plant the entire row of 450 onions in about 15 minutes - roughly 30 onions a minute.

For some reason, there's a fabulous amount of orchids in bloom on my patch this year. I'm fairly certain these are Common Spotted-Orchids (Dactylorhiza fuchsii subsp. fuchsii); they are highly variable in colour.

Hidden Lotus Herbs is getting ready to move to our new #farm site and really ramp up our operations!

For some backstory,
I was the recipient of a fund from @coop to start a worker-owned #cooperative and decided to make it an herbal apothecary!

We've been operational for around six months and are now starting our regenerative agroecological farm and increasing the capacity of our free clinic.

However, the #renewableenergy systems we're building are more expensive than we budgeted for, and we could use some help getting the farm and clinic going financially.
