We experimented with hydroponic fodder farming using reused plastic waste, water, and grain — and these are the results after only a few days. Turning “trash” into food while reducing waste and saving space feels powerful.
Could small ideas like this help communities fight feed shortages and plastic pollution at the same time?

Healing the ground we broke

"After Europeans colonized America, their descendants plowed their way across the continent, seeking prosperity through farming. But breaking up the soil – that had built up over many thousands of years – made it wash away. So some farmers are retiring their tilling equipment. Amble through #Kansas prairies and cornfields as we learn how treasuring the ground beneath our feet can lead to farms that better withstand #ClimateChange, use less #fertilizer and suck carbon out of the atmosphere."

If you come across a well-established farm, don’t ignore it respect the time, money, and effort behind it and learn from it

Setting up a regenerative farm is not easy. Our farm is still in progress, and we face real challenges like digging trenches only for them to get filled again after heavy rain.

We successfully completed mulching our banana plantation, and the plants are now well organized. This was not easy for us because it was challenging to find enough grass for mulching, but we are happy we managed to finish it.

Mulching helps in keeping moisture in the soil, improves soil fertility, reduces weed growth, and protects the plants from strong sun and heavy rain. This helps the bananas grow healthier and stronger.

Mangoes and avocados are vital in the #ecosystem, provide #food for humans, #birds, and #animals while supporting #biodiversity. Their trees improve air quality, prevent #soil erosion, and offer shade. Conserving them means protecting trees, avoiding deforestation, and practicing #sustainablefarming. Planting more #fruit trees ensures a steady food supply, enhances the #environment, and supports #life. Everyone should grow and care for #trees.

Hi, whether you want to grow potatoes, already growing them, and you still need more knowledge about them, here is a helpful thread for you on @econetwork page!

Hi everyone, we need advice from #farmers. We’re not experienced with growing potatoes. We found many already planted on our land, and now they’re flowering. We added soil around each plant as recommended just recently, but we are not sure what to do next. We really want a healthy first harvest 😊 Any guidance is welcome
