Out and about today—heading, incidentally, to GM Marzio Muscedere’s “Murder House!” for #DCCRPG for my monthly F2F #TTRPG meetup.

I was on the front line for #OpalCard’s teething problems, and let me tell you, as finicky and unworkable a piece of shit *that* was when Sydney rolled it out, it has nothing on #MyWayPlus. At least charging and validation worked, even if commuters couldn’t understand the fare structure.

I can’t even convince MyWay+ to tap me on.

has anyone else be driven to shoot rage lasers from their eyesockets when trying to navigate TransportNSW's #opalCard management processes? there are three different ways to access your account and none of them talk to each other

in sydney läd man am flughafen seine #opalcard auf und fährt dann mit bus, bahn, fähre solange man guthaben hat. #TapOn #TapOff beim Ein und Aussteigen, aufladen geht an allen möglich stellen in der Stadt und Stationen. Mit Bargeld oder Karte. Man kann auch einfach mit Kreditkarte zusteigen und 'tappen' - die Züge, Busse sind sauber, so macht #ÖPNV Spass - frag mich, wie die das finanzieren. 🤡 die Fahrpreise sind gering und beim Tappen wird das Guthaben angezeigt.

Also, what happens if you fail to tap off, because the sensor is telling you to "Please wait", but the bus is packed and everybody is angry?

Fun fact: if your credit card expires and you update your #OpalCard billing details with the new details, you will also need to re-establish any auto top-ups, because they don't roll over with the new payment details (and therefore your card will grump at you for a week for being too low a balance.) #SydneyBuses
