Okay, even een post zodat ik er vanaf nu naar kan verwijzen.

  • het is een fout van epische proporties om te rekenen op een consumentennetwerk in tijden van oorlog, aardbevingen, overstromingen etc. Als achtervang of extra? Prima. Als basis? Nooit.

I would recommend someone practicing #nvc.

Depends on where you're based, I only have a recommendation in the Eindhoven area.

And here is all about what the purpose of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is. The purpose is not to change people, it's purpose is to create a connection between people, which increases the likelihood that all needs of people are met.

How I like this video of a long workshop by Marshall B. Rosenberg. It's funny that he sits there near a manager, who was previously asking him how to deal with an employee who comes always late and does not do his tasks, because NVC runs contrary to the concepts of profit maxing, which would be what would be expected in such a position.

What is interesting to me about that, that there is this "consultant" version of NVC, which is just some method, which is then used in coaching of managers to do basically the opposite. Introducing an abusive version NVC, which is going against the original vision of the method, which is not a method but a philosophy.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is always very hard and it's hard to practice, I have never seen a group doing it like what Marshall B. Rosenberg describing it. It's always so powerful to watch his material.

    Like here.

He has this standpoint that other people never can make you doing anything or feeling in a particular way. He has the strong stance, that you are always responsible of how you feel. Other people may be the stimulus of an affect, but it needs your own "help" or self-talk that a certain feeling is made. When applied to other people, then this means that you aren't responsible of how a certain person feels, but you are responsible for your actions, which you control, but not the outcome.

Behind that lies his thinking about punishments, which he rejects. Like also the whole idea of retributive justice as it's so common in western societies or on smaller scales like associations.

I've read Many Voices, One Song. A comprehensive overview of the organizational method called sociocracy. Interesting, very actionable and integrates well with other traditions I relate to: systems theory, organizations where all voices matter, non-violent communication, cooperative movements, iterative/agile methods. I recommend it and wish more organizations would adopt this framework.
