Two exploded neckties.

I thought this was interesting: both claim "100% silk", yet contain other materials. Nylon for (presumably) maintaining the shape of points; canvas to add bulk and rigidity; a finer weight of nylon(?) mesh to cover the canvas, so the hand-feel is lustrous and smooth, not rough.

Are they allowed to claim "100% silk"?? This seems shady.

I have a suitcase full of neckties. The plan is to upcycle these for a special project, which will probably last several months. Stay tuned ...?

The necktie is such a weird and ARBITRARY designation of being "dressed up." I am sure there's a history out there of where it came from, and someday I might go down that rabbit hole, but it needs to change.

For example, anything that fits around my neck like that makes me gag. For me wearing a tie is torture.

I used to follow a guy who always showed what tie he was wearing every day, and what knot he used to tie it. Not sure if he's still out there, but maybe he'll see this.
