I'm still considering adding this to the back of the milk crate on my bicycle. #MUTCD R4-11 "Bicycles May Use Full Lane", especially if I can get one that is properly reflective.

Note that this sign has been superceded in the 11th Edition (2023) by R9-20 "Bicycles Allowed Use of Full Lane". Normally, the minimum size of these signs is specified as 30 x 30 inches.

Thoughts on when/why to install both a stop sign and a signal for shared use path users at road crossings? A cursory search of #MUTCD didn't turn anything up. #BikeSky #RoadSafety

This street sign in Mountain View uses Helvetica and I’m unreasonably upset. #mutcd #signs #signage #typography

Can someone ELI5 why we require traffic warrants before we install signals which keep pedestrians (and in most cases, drivers, too) safe?

#MUTCD

🧐 Everytime I pass this sign, I think there needs to be a more appropriate message. What could it say instead?

(This is a construction zone for a creek bridge & the shoulder bike lane ahead is in the work area. Construction expected to last through the summer.)

Just sent a note to NYC DOT Commissioner. DOT-646556-R7W This HHP / Route 9A Northbound Exit 12 exit ramp is two lanes wide. Why does a road posted at 50mph require an exit ramp that is two lanes wide? One can only make the turn onto the exit ramp from one lane so we have a case of parts of one lane expanding to two lanes. Seems very wasteful.

Neglected to ask if this ramp is #MUTCD compliant. Will find out myself. If unsatisfactory answer this becomes FOIA request.
