Excellent afternoon. The #WhalesTail wine/beer garden is back. Beautiful afternoon - not too windy in #GoldenGatePark. Music, a crowd of people, yet not crowded. Everyone relaxed & enjoying the space now freed up from cars. Good smells, good sounds. Oh yes, the wine was pretty good too.

Jurassic Park? There are a few quiet corners in Golden Gate Park with huge ferns, large as trees. Every time I enter a fern grove, I feel like I've stepped back in time. We saw the "Monet and Venice" exhibit this morning at the DeYoung museum, which naturally ended with some of Monet's Water Lilies paintings. We left for tea at the Japanese Tea Garden and realized there was a bit of a theme of birds and lilies. Not pictured were the ducks sleeping near the lily pond at the Tea Garden. I didn't want to disturb them. "Let Sleeping Ducks Lie," as they say.

Morning Sparrow

I was searching for coyotes, but when this White-Crowned Sparrow hopped up on a railing with a glowing golden background, I had to pause to line up a shot.
