In last night’s adventures of a #mentalhealth #nurse, I spent four hours standing in the cold and rain trying to engage with a person who was on a railway bridge whilst they were heavily intoxicated by illicit substances.
There was a multi-agency response. Six in total. We had to close the road and stop the trains. On the West Coast Mainline. The BTP chap told me the closure of the line cost just north of £100,000.
I don’t think I’ve warmed up yet.

It's essential to rid society of the effects of drug-taking.
They affect behaviour, short-term and longer-term; the actions users take to get the cash needed for their next fix; the whole set-up from cultivation, smuggling, the pushers and the dealers.
Drugs have a far worse effect on society than alcohol, which itself is bad enough.

The trains this morning because of a light snow shower.
The late, great Harry Thompson really understood our idiosyncrasies better than anybody. If you haven't seen his show "Monkey Dust" I highly recommend it. It's basically #nocontextbrits but animated.
