Esta fue mi presentación, ayer, en la 2026 Modern Language Association Annual Convention, que se está celebrando en Toronto (Canadá) entre los días 8 y 11 de enero. Ha sido mi primera intervención en una actividad de la #MLA. Formó parte de la sesión virtual «Digital Humanities, AI, and Teaching the Comedia», coordinada por Carmela V. Mattza (Louisiana State University). Hablé de los tres proyectos colaborativos desarrollados en redes sociales con alumnos de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad de Navarra: #ÚltimosDíasCervantes (2016), #LopeEstrenaComedia (2022) y #CalderónEsSueño (2025), en el marco de las investigaciones del Grupo de Investigación Siglo de Oro GRISO.

After hanging out with some of my DH peeps at #mla2026, I'm convinced it's time to cancel ye olde Co-pilot, and start using Claude Code. A bit more expensive, but top. Added bonus: it's the less evil of the bunch. If I'm going to carry the mark of Cain, might as well make it the softer gray one.

Some interesting conversations at the #mla2026 about the threats AI poses to the academy. A couple of people think it's fatal. I'm not convinced. For all intent and purposes prompt AI can produce textbook sections on the fly and point you to them. No matter how interactive, just textbook stuff.
