#Spyware on a #Memorystick?
You hacks out there, please – what is this?
First time, some days ago, I used this memory stick I was connected to an iPhone with an internet connection. Immediately something happened on the phone, it wanted me to open an "app", I think it was FaceTime. Well, well, i said no.
Today I was not online. After a few minutes the Mac said I had to eject the memory stick before it turned itself off – which it did. Now it won't load unless I'm connected to the internet.

We present a novel non attention based architecture for large language models (LLMs) that efficiently handles very long context windows, on the order of hundreds of thousands to potentially millions of tokens. Unlike traditional Transformer designs, which suffer from quadratic memory and computation overload due to the nature of the self attention mechanism, our model avoids token to token attention entirely. Instead, it combines the following complementary components: State Space blocks (inspired by S4) that learn continuous time convolution kernels and scale near linearly with sequence length, Multi Resolution Convolution layers that capture local context at different dilation levels, a lightweight Recurrent Supervisor to maintain a global hidden state across sequential chunks, and Retrieval Augmented External Memory that stores and retrieves high-level chunk embeddings without reintroducing quadratic operations.

* the sensitive part of a mobile hard disk drive
* three low-spec USB memory sticks that add around 145 GiB persistent removable L2ARC to a circa 2014 HP ZBook with 32 G memory and a ~1 TB internal HDD.

Hello Mastodon, je lance un petit appel à l'aide pour tenter de récupérer les données d'une #CléUsb récalcitrante. Depuis quelques jours, à chaque tentative de connexion un message d'erreur s'affiche : erreur entrée/sortie.
Y a-t-il un moyen quelconque de récupérer les données (19 Go d'après le gestionnaire de fichiers) ou bien c'est mort ? Ci-dessous des captures d'écran sous Linux, mais c'est pareil sous Windows.
Le repouet vous procurera le poil soyeux !
