#MellowGold is the Beck album i go back to the most. 30 years since "Loser" blew my fucking mind with a slide guitar and crazy lyrics i needed to memorize.

Beck released the masterpiece Mellow Gold 30 years ago today (March 1) in 1994. I was 14. It's still one of my favorite albums. Mellow Gold is actually Beck's third album, but the one most folks are familiar with because of Loser. TONS of great songs on this one. My favorite might be Beercan, which I know well because I used to cover it. 🤣🔥

After the disappointing FA cup final result, I’m #NowSpinning #MellowGold by #Beck. I’ve been lucky to see Beck perform live a bunch of times, but his solo acoustic performance of #TruckDrivinNeighborsDownstairs on the Odelay tour, still ranks as one of the best things I’ve seen.

Oh, & then there is #Beercan which just thumps.

This pressing is nothing special, a reissue, but it sounds good enough - given the recording itself is lofi.
