We Sold Our Soul For Rock ‘n Roll

Black Sabbath release their first compilation album on February 3, 1976. It was the first "best of" album I ever bought and it was the last one to be had at -- say it with me -- The Exclusive Company, downtown Oshkosh. Based on earlier experiences with Ozzbo and The Boys, I bought a pair of Koss headphones, too. The album is a solid introduction to the Ozzy Osbourne era of the band.

Yield

Pearl Jam release their 5th on February 2, 1998. The album produced two major singles, "Given to Fly" (which spent six weeks at number one on the Mainstream Rock charts) and "Wishlist". The track "Do the Evolution" also received a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance and featured an acclaimed animated music video created by comic artist Todd McFarlane.

The 12th album from Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds is released on February 2, 2003. It's the last with founding member Blixa Bargeld.  The album is famously recorded in just one week at SingSing Studio in Melbourne during a tour break in 2002 and reunited the band with producer Nick Launay, who had previously worked with Nick in The Birthday Party. Slowhand releases his 8th album on February 2, 1983 at fairly important time in his career and life. This was the first album Clapton recorded after his first stint in rehabilitation for alcoholism. EC chose the name because, after giving up drinking, he felt that "money and cigarettes" were all he had left. The album marked a shift in Clapton's musical circle as he replaced most of his long-time band with veteran session musicians.
