Un nouveau projet de parc solaire est en cours à Matane. Nutrinor-Gilbert Énergies renouvelables souhaite installer un parc photovoltaïque sur l’ancien site d’enfouissement de la ville, avec une puissance entre 5 et 15 MW. Ce projet pourrait devenir une vitrine technologique pour d'autres sites similaires. La construction devrait débuter d'ici 12 à 18 mois et pourrait prendre 24 mois.
