This beauty should be a grown up Amanita (Amanita excelsa).
It is easily confused with the highly toxic panther cup, but that doesn't really matter if you don't plan on taking and eating it, which I didn't.
The second photo is a stack of the beautiful lamellae, they look so neat! 😍

During my last tour it was definitely slug season. And most of them were busy making new baby slugs! So here are two macro stacks of this process. The first one shows an ongoing copulation with the incredible white mass between them where they fertilize and exchange eggs.
The second one was taken when they were just meeting. Look how well you can see inside the left slug! I think that looks pretty cool. 😊

Right after I was done shooting the little mushroom, one of the thousands of slugs that live in this forest slowly got to it and instantly started devouring the poor thing.
Look at these stunning bite marks in the cap! Although these slugs move like, well, slugs, eating the mushroom only took a few minutes.
