UPDATE: Gelöst mit Strg+r - thank you!

Omgggg freaking Linux!

After it insisting it doesn't know my WiFi password anymore, then after 5 dialogue boxes coming up saying it can't connect and to try again or cancel, after 5 reattempts I hit cancel and gave up. Then after I'd updated some audio files, Wine said it needed to download some updates for mp3tag to work, and I'm like, yeah good luck with that, except... I was now online?

So cancelling it made it connect, wth #Linux??

Also, even though I've set #Dvorak as my default, why do I have to always manually switch it from QWERTY? Even my logon screen defaults to QWERTY, which is annoying because I rearranged all my physical buttons to Dvorak. Come on, #LinuxMint, even Windoze can get it right!

I want to try install Brazzite on my PC but I got Linux Mint installed and want to keep my user folder (if possible). Any guides or tips?

I get asked about getting started with linux enough that I am considering making a talk on it for one of the smaller events I go to. (Cue severe social anxiety stopping me)

If you are a linux noob (not a seasoned linux user who REMEMBERS being a noob, I see you, but I also know you got rose tinted glasses), please give me your dumb questions.

And to the seasoned linux users in the replies, PLEASE keep your eyerolling and solutions to yourself. This is not a troubleshooting thread

Okay dumb Linux question. I did try to get hibernate working on my Linux notebook.

Therefor I added a resume statement to the LINUX_DEFAULT config for GRUB. Also I added the resume statement to the Kernel parameters and recreated both configs.

In theory the hibernate works but after the machine fully shuts down it starts again, restoring the state.

Any idea what could the issue? I did test it with `systemctl hibernate`

I stopped sddm seeking to be in a command line and opening apps there instead of loading the whole desktop environment.
Of course that didn't work.

For users who want to try #Linux, I recommend this: Do not listen to people who tell you to use #Ubuntu, #LinuxMint or other variants. They all use the same complex and often breaking mechanisms, and can cause a lot of hassle.

Instead, I recommend these systems:

- #Fedora #AtomicDesktops
- #UniversalBlue #Aurora #Bluefin #Bazzite
- #HeliumOS

Cool too: #SerpentOS, and I switched to #NixOS.

These systems are reliable like an Android phone, while offering you more freedom.

So, a few weeks into using my newly #Ubuntu powered mid-2011 #Mac and I'm still very much enjoying it. Knew that the RAM on the machine was a bit wanting (even still, the OS runs fast). So I opened up another same model Mac I have to repurpose some RAM. Discovered that I've been running the Ubuntu machine on only 4gb and the other Mac on 16. So now the Ubuntu machine has 12gb and continues to feel like I've purchased a brand new computer.

(neo)vim은 이 정도면 알차게 찍먹한 것 같아서 다시 봉인... nano는 단축키가 너무 요상해서 다시 micro로 돌아왔다.

Now we get to see which works best for my church needs with dueling old iMacs, one running MacOs and the other Ubuntu. I’m going to try living with both for awhile and, honestly, likely migrate over to the Ubuntu machine.
