In this decade of my life, guitar is my new long-term hobby.
Seeking freedom, I aim to use Linux for my practice and recording. As a side effect, I hopefully will learn some Linux (Arch, btw).
Husband, father, ULM pilot, can't ask life for more.

I'm trying to find a straightforward way to record guitar in #linux .
So many pieces in this puzzle. Ardour vs Reaper. Carla vs Qgraph. ALSA, Pipewire, Jack2.
I'm coming with an open mind, I'm not considering wine. I know this is not windows.
I'm not in a hurry though. I'll eventually figure it out. Maybe some #linuxmusician wants to suggest a straightforward tutorial to get started :)
My first #archlinux troubleshooting session. I've been lucky to face an easy one. My first encounter with a pacman database locked by what seems to be the infamous db.lck file.
Lesson learned. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Pacman
pacman - ArchWiki

I installed professional audio package in #archlinux and I feel it working better than a fresh UbuntuStudio.
Of course it could be a noob thing, I'm just a new #linuxmusician , but if you are wondering, I invite you to check out how easy is to make Arch ready for a hobbyist musician.

Arch And Professional Audio | serolrom - a new linux musician

Have been running Arch on my ThinkPad for ages now, and can now finally run it on my Windoze PC via WSL2. Goes hard lol https://news.itsfoss.com/arch-linux-wsl-release/
You Can Now Officially Run Arch Linux Inside Windows

Arch Linux is now officially available on Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).

It's FOSS News
Looks like the perfect day to be a #linuxmusician
I stopped sddm seeking to be in a command line and opening apps there instead of loading the whole desktop environment.
Of course that didn't work.

Almost done with the setup of my blog based on GitHub pages.
This is the beginning of this identity.
My goal is to produce music in a foss environment (#linuxmusician , #linuxaudio), and document the process.
I use Arch, btw*
