Dr HThe grip of the lightsabre prop is part of the pole that held a shower head. Being real metal means it polished up really well.
The trigger mechanism uses half a clip from a clothes hangar as a lever.
This pushes down a plastic rod "plunger" to depress a spring housed in a larger rod inside the body of the lightsabre.
