The grip of the lightsabre prop is part of the pole that held a shower head. Being real metal means it polished up really well.
The trigger mechanism uses half a clip from a clothes hangar as a lever.
This pushes down a plastic rod "plunger" to depress a spring housed in a larger rod inside the body of the lightsabre.

Just thowing some random junk pieces together to make something that resembles "a" lightsabre, rather than trying to replicate any particular one.
Included a sprung trigger, so it "totally" works.
