The last LibreWolf update broke GPU acceleration here. I can't even read PDFs!

What is the least enshittified chrome-based browser? Chromium?

(My daily driver is #librewolf , but I am a web developer so I need to test on chrome-based too...)

#chrome #chromium #browser

#waterfox or #librewolf - and more importantly: why?

#firefox

man, it's been ages since I last used #librewolf ; just installed and LOVING it. Deleted Firefox. My 1 - 2 browser punch is #Vivaldi and #librewolf I could not possibly ask for more.

Both have strong #AntiAI stances. That was really getting to me on Firefox. You can turn it off but it remains in the plumbing.

@Vivaldi
@librewolf

#Librewolf update, now has a transitional background color on private windows.

If anyone knows how to change that, please let me know.

I tried setting custom colors but it does not work. Couldn't find anything obvious in about:config either.

Why is it a big deal? Because I have letter-boxing turned on and now I have bright purple lower-left corner and darker upper-right when browsing...it's irritating and distracting.

@fasterandworse That's why I switched to #Librewolf and #Ironfox.

In #Librewolf #v152.0.1-2, the "Private" tab "blank" page is now fucking too bright with purple-blue gradient background (using "Dark" theme already).

Is it possible to change that to a solid darker color? How?

#fediHelp #Firefox

I wasn't happy with the native Linux #Mastodon apps - crashing, flatpaks, based on Electron, etc.

So I ended up just creating another profile under #LibreWolf specifically for Mastodon. This way I have that browser and my "normal" browser. (Dillo doesn't support JS, Midori was slow, Seamonkey could run it, and the others are just as big as LibreWolf, but not as private.)

See, I'm more paranoid than most. If I browse to a bank or something, I log out of everything, clear all data in the browser, open private window, then "bank". When I'm done, I close private window, clear all data, then open private window again for something new (e.g. masto).

With a separate profile, I can stay logged into Mastodon without affecting my "normal" browsing in the other profile.

Now I just need to get use to bouncing to virtual window #5 to get to masto. It used to be on #2, my browser VW.
