Dessert edition!

Czech Republic represented by Czech Kolache. Two yeasted doughs in one day was a bit ambitious. This dough was beautiful though! Admittedly, the last few recipes I have made that called for the stand mixer, I have kneaded by hand instead (easier to wash my hands than the mixer!). There is something therapeutic about working with good dough. These were very tasty. Delicious both warm and cold!

Reminding the neighbors that #Kolache exists and that it is delicious.
I baked a family-ish recipe of koláče (this recipe is from Litomysl, MN, settled by Czechs including my dad’s ancestors; he would sometimes help make them for community bake sales) with poppyseed & apricot fillings. They’re bigger than average koláče (I’ll need to roll smaller pieces of dough next time) but taste great. It feels good to keep the culinary tradition going

Dropped in at The Bakingtist on Holmes Ave in Huntsville for the first time.

Tried their #Conecuh sausage and #chedder #kolache.

OMG. I have no pic, because it disappeared too fast!
