Happened to notice that the latest #elecraft #kh1 firmware includes FT8 support for SOTAmat https://sotamat.com - which now supports the KH1.

This is great timing as I’ve spent some time this evening finally designing the case for my SOTAcat PCB. I have made sure it will fit on the #kh1 as well. It’s a much tighter fit than the #kx2 or #kx3.

Quick render below of the top of the case. Need to figure out the bottom part, particularly connections. May need a tweak or two to the PCB…

have not seen these before;

1600$USD with an ATU.

Are these viable rigs to buy from Australia at 2400$AUD?

Post postage, taxes and tarrifs would push them well over 3000$AUD.

At which point the little ICOM 705's would be far better money at half that?

I get that weight and convenience are the things that cost extra here.

FREQUENCY RANGES: RX, 6.7 – 22.0 MHz; TX, 40/30/20/17/15 m ham bands.

10Meters would be a good addition?

SOTA in the desert.
Having the KH1 and whip makes it a lot easier to set up on some of these small, step peaks. And chasers have good enough ears to still hear me!
