Was experimenting with Debian on my iBook around that time, but switched to Mac OS X as it was supposed to #justwork .
Spent two entire weeks on an important document using Apple Pages.
And because of a fundamental bug with no workarounds, in the end I could not export to PDF or print or do anything useful with it.
That was the day I began to learn how to use LaTeX…

It seems to "just happen" in some #projects. `poetry install` should set up executable scripts in the venv's bin dir for them - but it just doesn't do it. And no matter how high you crank the verbosity, it will not emit a single #diagnostic to tell you *why* it isn't doing it. At one point I thought it only happened with projects using src-layout - but I'm not so sure about that now.
Documentation? Of course there's no mention of it. It should Just Work.

I've never had occasion to peek under the hood of #djbdns; it Just Worked and that was enough for me. So I'm a little surprised by that design.
I would have thought the key would be `<domain>-<recordtype>`, at least.
Fascinating.
