#homeassistant In an attempt to replace/extend Siri and Alexa beyond light-on-off commands and radio streaming I‘ve set up HA on a base MacMini M4 - but it responds painfully slow, easily exceeding 20s for even basic commands.

Voice PE -> faster-whisper -> Ollama/qwen3:8b -> Piper -> Voice PE

Putting a local model into the pipeline I hoped for smarter results but even that promise failed so far.
I probably need to feed more context into it, long setup sessions ahead…

In 2025 @storj price increase was moderate: for ~1TB from 3$ to 5$. Fine by me. Still a good deal.
