I got Linux Mint. My old Win PC died, & I have a Win laptop. Last century, I spent a few years as a crap unix admin. I have 20y of now obsolete IT experience. What could possibly go wrong?

Trying pop tarts for the first time. I'm still not sure why I should be impressed, when it's so very overly overloaded with sugar. But I cannot say that I don't enjoy it.
I blame it on Coyote, the guy in "Grace and Frankie", who was addicted to pop tarts. 🤭
It’s the job of executives, management and other senior officers to take a proposal, and then think outside the box to make any of the fundamental elements become feasible, at least.
It’s not the job of frontline, lowly renumerated, operational staff to do this outside of their strictly scheduled work hours.
If your ‘innovation program’ is to squeeze proposals drafted outside of work hours, only to be dismissive of them, and not bother thinking ‘outside the box’.
It’s not very innovative.

Absolutely loathe organisations that say ‘We support innovations’
but reject all innovations or reports of problems on the basis of ‘We do not have the budget to solve that problem with IT based improvements’
then ask frontline operational and service staff to do the job of high-salary Business analysts and propose innovations that do not involve IT-based changes.
Had a little walk through the news articles being shared by @zoetillman and to be fair I haven't been watching or reading much news since 2013 anyway, but my goodness these headlines are utterly depressing and that's one reason I've been immersed in the world of photography and enjoying people's landscape work and pics of squirrels and birds eating seeds in the snow and orchids in our national parks and whatever else.

I deeply resent how my employer's IT regards all internet video as potentially composed of naught but cats or tits or both, and blocks the lot. This instructional video I'm meant to be watching is "Can't reach that site" -ified. Grr.
