I am *especially* loving the privacy and security implications of my 'recently used files' jumplist in Windows Explorer showing me files that other people in the company have edited recently.

Given I work for a multinational, that includes people who aren't even on the same *continent*. But I can now see what they were working on this morning... 🤦‍♂️

ETA: no not in my team. Nor my department. The first common point in the org chart is the global CEO.

Edit 2: it appears it is a SharePoint thing. You know, trying to be 'helpful', by turning your 'recent documents' list into a feed based on other people's activity.

Edit 3: not specifically SharePoint. There's an option in Windows File Explorer now to "Include account-based insights, recent, favourite, and recommended files". Turned that off, and the problem went away.

Die beiden wollten wie geniale Cybercrime-Masterminds wirken, verhielten sich am Ende aber eher wie zwei Tölpel, die beim Bankraub vergessen haben, die Dashcam auszuschalten. 😉 👇

Bei den Nürnberger Nachrichten hat auch jmd. geschlafen bei der Programmierung des Registrierungs Formulars 🙄

Wenn die Hausnummer einen Buchstaben enthält, dann bekommt man plötzlich alle Zeitungen zur Auswahl und er sagt immer, dass man außerhalb der es Zustellbereichs wäre.
Dabei würde eine reine Prüfung der Postleitzahl schon völlig ausreichen 🤷

Work IT, 9:15am: We are aware of large numbers of users having trouble accessing the network. We are investigating.

Work IT, 11:15am: We have determined that the network connection is not a cybersecurity incident. It is caused by a Microsoft update being rolled out to hundreds of laptops simultaneously accidentally DDOS'ing our wifi network.

Me, feeling smug: Ah, glad I'm WFH today!

(There is no ethernet in our office, only WiFi... They ripped all the cables out when they converted the floor plan into the battery chicken layout we have today)

I need to copy ~500GB of work files from my old work laptop to the new work laptop.

They're sitting two feet apart on my desk.

Thanks to IT policies, I have to upload that 500GB to an Azure file share in a data centre somewhere, then download it again to the new laptop.
