Le black-out internet en Iran pourrait devenir permanent, avec un accès réservé aux élites
Le régime teste un internet à deux niveaux où l'accès devient un privilège vérifié. Son coût économique pourrait être stupéfiant.
La coupure quasi-totale des communications en Iran est entrée dans son 16e jour, mais ce n'est qu'un test en direct.
Suite à une répression des manifestations, le gouvernement est en train de construire un système qui n'accorde l'accès au web qu'aux élites approuvées par la sécurité, tout en enfermant 90 millions de citoyens dans un intranet.
La porte-parole du gouvernement Fatemeh Mohajerani a confirmé que l'accès international ne sera pas restauré avant au moins fin mars. Filterwatch, qui surveille la censure d'internet en Iran depuis le Texas, cite des sources gouvernementales, dont Mohajerani, affirmant que l'accès "ne reviendra jamais à sa forme précédente".
C'est ce qui rend la tentative de l'Iran unique : d'autres États autoritaires ont construit des murs avant que leurs populations ne se connectent.
L'Iran tente de boucler une économie connectée déjà en chute libre.
Le système s'appelle Internet de Caserne, selon des documents de planification confidentiels obtenus par Filterwatch. Selon cette architecture, l'accès au web mondial ne sera accordé que par une liste blanche de sécurité stricte.
