Great to catch so many of you at the LoRa mesh networking intro session this evening! and super questions & discussion about communicating via #meshnetworks and #meshcore
there were some hiccups with the live-stream 🙈, but a partial recording is here: https://techwerkers.nl/en/events/2026-01-15/ (eventually we'll upload a full version, but that needs some re-recording and editing)

- LoRa bord: Heltec Mesh Node T114 Rev. 2.0 - nRF52840 - SX1262 LoRa 868MHz - with 1.14 inch TFT Display.
- Behuizing: Heltec Enclosure for Mesh Node T114
- Batterij: PKCELL Li-Po Batterij 3.7V 350mAh. Though you can find batteries that last longer.

@techwerkers Can you share the shopping list please? Could not find it on the website.

@irdi yeah for sure (still need to add it to the website). So this is what we used in the pilot:

- LoRa board: Heltec Mesh Node T114 Rev. 2.0 - nRF52840 - SX1262 LoRa 868MHz - with 1.14 inch TFT Display. The board comes with an antenna.
- Case: Heltec Enclosure for Mesh Node T114
- Battery: PKCELL Li-Po Batterij 3.7V 350mAh (though you can find batteries that last longer)

Best of luck with getting started and just ping if you have any questions :D

@techwerkers Thanks for that great introduction! Seeing how many people attended, it would be great to have a handful of recommendations for purchases (both clients and router), to make it easier for newcomers to join the mesh.

I love that people directly considered setting up (solar) routers on tall buildings!

@garliccheese Thanks! Here's a list of the gear mentioned during the session:

- LoRa board: Heltec Mesh Node T114 Rev. 2.0 - nRF52840 - SX1262 LoRa 868MHz - with 1.14 inch TFT Display. The board comes with an antenna.
- Case: Heltec Enclosure for Mesh Node T114
- Battery: PKCELL Li-Po Batterij 3.7V 350mAh (though you can find batteries that last longer)

hope that helps!

@techwerkers
