Trump and Putin greeted each other with a handshake. Trump even applauded the Russian leader as he walked towards him on the red carpet.
Journalists asked Putin whether he would stop killing civilians, but he did not respond. The leaders then got into the same car, smiling and laughing.
What will future historians say about this meeting?
For some reason I have that song 'Peaches' by The Presidents of the United States stuck in my head.
I had completely forgotten the name of the band who sang that song until today. It's oddly fitting.
