Ibexes of Pontresina! 😍📸🤩

Every year, from end of March till beginning of June, a colony of ibexes come down from the mountains to reach some green pasture in the village of Pontresina (Graubünden, Switzerland). People are used to them coming down from the mountains and they are used to people. Mutual respect. These animals are wild and can be photographed from close distance. They are sooo beautiful 😍 🤩 📸.

Mist-shrouded mountains with a silhouetted Alpine #ibex, taken in Col de la Colombière, Haute-Savoie, #France. Native to Europe, the species was hunted close to extinction in the early 1800s. Thanks to protection and reintroduction efforts, ibex now roam large areas of the Alps. However, a rapidly changing climate causing shifts in food availability may hinder their survival.
