Is anyone else here a fan of Ian Hubert's 2021 short film "Salad Mug"? He's just released a sequel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29E-HNTWEOE

The linked video is the fourth in a series, and he's teased that another installment might be released pretty soon. (Despite the very slow rollout of this series, I find the promise credible, since episodes 2-3 were released back to back.)

The videos are all great fun to watch, due to the amazing gritty cyberpunk world he's created. I don't necessarily like all VFX, but this is really well done.

The series uses a nonlinear storytelling style, which might not be to everybody's taste. However, the linked video starts with a brief "Previously" reminder, which seems to include enough background to make it watchable without having seen the others.

Anyway, I don't quite know where this story line is going, but it's very engaging. It's a visual treat, and I'm quite enjoying the ride.

@arturo182 Same here. With Blender in particular I end up starting with a tutorial but then wandering off exploring things along the way until I hit the next wall. Discoverability is bad, that's true. But the documentation is usually very good โ€“ if you know, where to look, of course. I'm only a once-or-twice-a-year-for-a-couple-of-days type of user. Sufficiently advanced Blender users are indistinguishable from magicians.

BTW: do you know #IanHubert's tutorials?

@takeitev there's loads of resources out there for stuff like that. Here's a Lazy Tutorial on that very subject by the amazing #IanHubert : https://youtu.be/05HFa3jNBH0. But there's also ways to do that in shader.

Ever since I first learned about Project London and how Ian Hubert directed Tears of Steel, Iโ€™ve been a fan. His style and seemingly boundless creativity have always inspired me.

Well, long story short: if you havenโ€™t checked out his newest project #DynamoDream yet and youโ€™re open to quite the experience, I highly recommend you give it a chance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsGZ_2RuJ2A

(I still have an earworm of the credit song in episode 3. ๐Ÿ˜…)
