In other news, the IC706 I had in the work truck is in drastic need of a tune-up/full alignment/etc....

Low power output on 40m, SWR pegs to infinity, even though the antenna system shows a decent SWR on the same band. Extremely low power output on 20m and 10m, but SWR reads correct.

Anyone know of a good, reputable, fair repair shop that can do the alignment and repair what's broken?

The rig is 25 years old, and has about 2 million miles on it between my POV and the Semi truck. It's been a great rig, it just needs some help.

Looking for recommendations on repair shops.

Is the IC-905 an ideal SOTA radio? No. But you can absolutely do a #SOTA activation with one, and I'll do it again. Many times. This was the summit of Penycloddiau today (GW/NW-054). The microHam Micro Keyer III is now running on Linux. CAT control and audio are working fine so far. However, I'm still getting strange background noises when sending in digital mode.

Is there anyone out in #hamradio land that has one of the new #ICOM IC-7300 MK2 transceivers? I'd love to hear a review from someone other than a youtuber or retailer. Nothing against either of those groups, but I would like to hear more of a "person on the street" opinion.

The MK2 would be taking the spot of my current IC-7300, which will take the place of another radio.
