On Friday, Feb. 13, the High Court in the UK ruled on that the government’s ban on the direct action group #PalestineAction as a terrorist organization was unlawful. The ruling marked a major legal victory for the group, which was founded in 2020 and campaigns against companies complicit in “the occupation, apartheid and genocide of Palestine,” with a focus on #Israel weapons manufacturer #ElbitSystems.

#HudaAmmori, the 31-year old British-Palestinian co-founder of PA, spoke about the movement’s strategy, rooted in direct action to physically disrupt and dismantle the war machine that facilitates the genocide and occupation in #Palestine.

@tony The #UKgov has only 2 possible levels of appeal:

1/ to the Court of Appeal (#EWCA)
2/ to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom (#UKSC). The #HomeSecretary #ShabanaMahmood says she wants to appeal, but I dunno if leave to appeal has been granted.

Both levels of appeal would probably take ~18–24 months to get a final answer from UK courts.

However, if the UK courts back the govt, then #HudaAmmori could appeal to the European Court of Human Rights (#ECtHR). Probably another 2–3 years.
