I posted some demo videos of hucksh(ell). Let me know what you think!

New #hucksh release. The GUI client works on Windows now! 🎉 Lots of other changes, too. Check out my blog about it all: https://huckridge.com/2024/03/06/hucksh-2024-03-01-release/.
Oh, and, hey, I have my own website now. Well, not exactly — I've had it the whole time, I was just using Notion instead. But now I'm not! Check it out. https://huckridge.com/
If you're a Kentik employee (I don't *think* any of them are here, but I could be wrong), or we've worked together elsewhere, DM me for a free license key.
#hucksh news:
In my last newsletter (see earlier posts) I mentioned that I got the Windows GUI client to build, and talk to a macOS or Linux server, forwarded over a native-Windows Unix socket.
For that purpose I wrote some Go to listen on a native-Windows Unix socket and forward it via an internal ssh client.
Today I got the GUI client to talk to a Cygwin emulated Unix socket, so now the Hucksh GUI can work over a(n emulated) Unix socket forwarded over Cygwin ssh! 🎉

That's the news. Thanks for reading!
For more information about hucksh, like where to get it, and why you might want to, see my post, or rather, article, at LinkedIn:
It's been a pretty amazing couple of weeks at Huck Ridge Software.
For one thing, I learned the difference between a "post" and an "article" at LinkedIn. 😆
On my third post to Reddit, I got a comment encouraging me to post at "Show Hacker News". (Weeeeell ... technically they only asked if I'd considered it. But I felt encouraged!)
So two days later I did.
But I also noticed that the tarball was completely missing the macOS version of hucksh!
Somewhere along the way I'd deleted that line in the Makefile. 🤦🏻♂️
So of course I fixed it and now the tarball is twice as big. Growing pains? Haha.
Funny(?) story ...
I build the Hucksh tarball I distribute from a "distrib" directory. I have a Makefile target that updates the tree and builds the tarball. (Eventually I'll have Linux packages and a macOS .pkg file (like a real product, haha), but that's for the future; right now it's just a tarball with code for both platforms.)
hucksh will soon be Generally Available!
I’ve got a Dropbox account to distribute it from; a store in the approval process at Fastspring; and I’ve added a “trial mode”, where hucksh does a little less until you enter a license key.
So watch this space for the download & purchase links!
