It's been a pretty amazing couple of weeks at Huck Ridge Software.

For one thing, I learned the difference between a "post" and an "article" at LinkedIn. 😆

On my third post to Reddit, I got a comment encouraging me to post at "Show Hacker News". (Weeeeell ... technically they only asked if I'd considered it. But I felt encouraged!)

So two days later I did.

I can't tell you how much more engagement I got! Tons and tons. Thousands of hits on my hucksh pages at Notion. 93 points, and 63 comments (including my own) at HN. If you want to know what developers think, go where they are, I guess. (Which I actually *thought* I was doing, with my Reddit posts, but apparently not.)

I also made four sales! WooHoo! It's a start!

The comments were also great. (Well, most of them.) Among other things, I learned that some people were uncomfortable shelling (haha) out money to some guy with a couple of Notion pages and a Dropbox account (the Show Hacker News guidelines that "the community is comfortable with work that's at an early stage" notwithstanding).
So I took another look at the Wordpress article composer at huckridge dot com and saw that it's not *that* much worse than Notion. So I've started to move back there, page by page.
Similarly, I'll take a look at creating a public "issues-only" repository at Github, which I can also use to post hucksh builds, and (fingers crossed) have discussions with my users. And also of course make use of Github's CI framework.
Heretofore I've been compiling on my macOS laptop or on a Linux VM running therein. It was *really nice* leaning on the operations folks at $PREVIOUS_EMPLOYER for CI-related stuff; now I have to learn that shit for myself. New skills, here I come.
And finally I blew the dust off the Windows version of hucksh and got it to build and run again, if not exactly, you know, actually *work correctly*. But it's a step in the right direction.

That's the news. Thanks for reading!
