I have just released version 1.0.1 of my latest noise making, texturing VST3 plugin Tumult. It fixes two bugs that caused not all samples to play and prevented the plugin from loading under some circumstances on Linux.

You can get it here: https://github.com/consint/Tumult

I just had a quick play with the #Hise-based Rhapsody sample player engine and its free and #libre trumpet/trombone library Bell & Bone (see https://librewave.com/product/bell-and-bone/).

It's actually not too bad, especially for being free!

(It can sound much better than this)

I followed David Healy's work with the #hise #sampler for some times but entirely missed the release of his Rhapsody virtual #instrument #audioplugin.
Rhapsody is a sampler meant to play Librewave's sample librarires. A few of which I added to this post.
#Linuxaudio was in need of an alternative to Kontakt. The #sfz format is already quite good but isn't scriptable, so limited.

Rhapsody is #freesoftware and can be loaded in any DAW supporting the vst3 format. It can also be used as a standalone.

I know there are some soundfonts/sfz around that are compatible with #linux, but don't know of quality work dedicated to virtual instruments except from librewave. The libraries are affordable and of high quality.

I'm getting lost in #hise, a framework for creating sample based instruments. And I like it.
