Eureka! 🎉 Now, thanks to Hilbert space, you can treat functions like vectors—because who wouldn't want to add some dimension to their #math misery? 🤯 Finally, a way to get lost in infinite math space, because three dimensions just aren't enough! 🙃

Just a supposition of complex units in Hilbert Space, so no time or entropy for the orthogonal limits of any functions? The unmoved mover is not lost in the Forrest, rather the movers have taken a lift with the Dark Passenger. #functions #relations #properties #Dispositions #forms #OneSidedArguments #HilbertSpace https://share.google/images/a5zrBuBekSYNHF6r7

Dr. Miller has tipped me off that the suggested text for his upcoming course An Introduction to Hilbert Spaces will be:

Berberian, Sterling Khazag. Introduction To Hilbert Space. Oxford University Press, 1961. Reprint Literary Licensing, 2012.

He’s not happy that it ignores measure theory as a means to introduce the Lebesque integral, so he’ll be supplementing that with additional notes. I’ve ordered a used copy of the 1st edition, but there are also versions from AMS as well as a more recent reprint from 2012.

He also suggested that Debnath & Mikusinski was pretty good, albeit more expensive than he would like in addition to not being a fan some of their approaches to topics.

Debnath, Lokenath, and Piotr Mikusinski. Introduction to Hilbert Spaces with Applications. 3rd ed., Academic Press, 2005.

Introduction to Hilbert Spaces: An Adventure In Infinite Dimensions

Looking for some serious entertainment with an intellectual bent on Tuesday nights this fall? Professor Michael Miller has got you covered in multiple dimensions. Dr. Miller has now listed his mathematics offering for Fall 2025 at UCLA Extension. It's Introduction to Hilbert Spaces: An Adventure In Infinite Dimensions (MATH 900). As always, it will be presented in lectures on Tuesday nights from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a short break in the middle. The class runs from September 23 - […]

Hilbert spaces are mathematical constructs used in information retrieval to represent and analyze data in high-dimensional vector spaces. They provide a framework for modeling the relationships and similarities between documents, queries, and other information elements, enabling advanced techniques like latent semantic analysis and vector space models to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of search and recommendation systems.

England with Barb

Early in 2024 I started spending time with Barb Ash, who I met in the Los Gatos Coffee Roasting. Being with Barb makes me a lot happier than I've been for the last year and a half. I'm glad I met her. In May, we went ahead and did a trip to England together, spending

If you mean the kind of #Nothing that #Physicists can talk about (some kind of #HilbertSpace or #StateSpace of possibilities where the #LawsOfPhysics can operate) then yes.
