Families met verschillende achternamen kunnen een zelfde wapen voeren omdat:
a. ze verwant zijn
b. ze in totaal verschillende heraldische regio's wonen. Elke regio is een zelfstandige heraldische jurisdictie.
c. er een fout gemaakt is in het wapenboek.

De wapenboeken lijken veel op elkaar qua inhoud. Ze zijn waarschijnlijk overgeschreven en getekend van elkaar.

Hieronder het familiewapen dat ik ooit in het Nationaal Archief heb gevonden.

Jarenlang dacht ik, dat er maar 1 afbeelding was van mijn familiewapen. Deze afbeelding staat in een oud wapenboek dat wordt bewaard in het Nationaal Archief in Den Haag. 2 jaar terug zag ik op Facebook een afbeelding van ons wapen, maar dan toegeschreven aan het dorpje Waert (Zeeland). Vorige week heb ik dit voorgelegd aan een heraldicus. Nu heb ik 14 afbeeldingen van hetzelfde familiewapen: 10 van Serne en 4 van Waert. #heraldiek #heraldique #heraldry (1/2)

En cherchant bien dans les #blasons, vous trouverez au moins deux Pierre qui ont été prévôts des marchands à #lyon, l'équivalent actuel de maire.
Pierre de Sève a été prévôt entre 1644 et 1650 et Pierre Cholier entre 1716-1724.
