British plumbing, in my forty year old house anyway, feels very "minimum viable product", safety valves hidden away in hard to access places, and designed to be installed and sold rather than maintained.
Has plumbing technology improved in the last twenty years, so I should get a plumber to install better valves?
And incidentally, is this a british thing or a global thing, US videos seem to show lots of lovely coloured handles on their valves...
