Reminder that #RemembranceDay is coming up, and there's plenty of time to buy #WhitePoppies from the Peace Pledge Union.

The #WhitePoppy has been worn in the run-up to Remembrance Day for over ninety years, as a symbol of remembrance and peace.

How depressing that all this government investment and indigenous engineering talent is being used to develop bigger and cleverer ways of killing people in wars rather than doing anything socially useful.

This is genuinely, horrifically, extraordinary. Labour politicians - LABOUR politicians - arguing against citizens being able to make ethical investment decisions.
I do not want - and never would want - my money to support the arms industry.
In news that will surprise LITERALLY NO-ONE, a knowledgable insider has said that "Britain’s system for controlling arms exports is broken, subject to political manipulation and has seen conduct that crossed the threshold into complicity with war crimes".
If you're buying or selling weapons, you're making the world a worse place.

This is a good piece from #Quakers UK, arguing against spending ever more on 'defence' (for which read ‘weapons and people to use them’) at the expense of non-military responses to conflict, such as funding for conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
@NationCymru I see #EverydayMilitarism is alive and well in RCT. What a profoundly weird country we are.
