In news that will surprise LITERALLY NO-ONE, a knowledgable insider has said that "Britain’s system for controlling arms exports is broken, subject to political manipulation and has seen conduct that crossed the threshold into complicity with war crimes".
If you're buying or selling weapons, you're making the world a worse place.

This is a good piece from #Quakers UK, arguing against spending ever more on 'defence' (for which read ‘weapons and people to use them’) at the expense of non-military responses to conflict, such as funding for conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
