I have been listening to this podcast for years.
Huh? I only now just learnt that the #BBC has decided to finish #HARDtalk. What an incredibly strange decision to make, especially in this time. A show that would truly put the powers to be in their place. I still have fond memories of some of the interviews by original host Tim Sebastian.

I really can't fathom the sort of stupidity that has led the #BBC to axe #HARDtalk and make Sackur redundant.
My best guess is that 14 years of Tory hegemony casts a long cultural shadow, and Tories in senior leadership at the Beeb (including Davie) and on their board are not receptive to journalism that holds the powerful to account.
Such a deeply stupid and self-damaging move.

It's perfect for an era of #anti-intellectual rage.
