LeoBurrSo this is Burrs' TV gaming setup now. Was a fun Project - GPD Win 4 2024, Ryzen 7 8840U, 32GB RAM, 4TB NVMe. RX 9070 XT over OCuLink on a Minisforum DEG1 dock. Bazzite.
Getting it here meant writing systemd services to kill PCIe power management before it killed the oculink connection, udev rules to keep OpenRGB from raving on every wake cycle, and a lot of dmesg. Junction temps sit at 60C under load.
For reference, a PS5 Pro runs a Zen 2 CPU from 2020, 16GB RAM, and 2TB of storage. This is a current-gen Zen 4, 32GB RAM, 16GB VRAM, 4TB, an RDNA 4 GPU with roughly 3x the graphics muscle of the PS5 Pro, and the full Switch library. Undocked it's a handheld. Docked it's this science-projecty, but pretty cool little thing.

These are such interesting devices. One part 90's H/PC, one part 2000's #PocketPC & thrown into a #NetBook form factor.
It's a strange hybrid device of form and function.
I can't wait to tinker around with this. Since it runs on ARM and #WindowsCE I have heard there are ways to load pocket PC programs on it, though they may be unoptimized.

JacketI want to develop software on the go. In the metro, bus, cars. I'm looking at a lot of alternatives like having a mini #Linux #handheldPC, a setup with a computer in my bag with a keyboard and #AR glasses, using my phone to code on #githubworkspaces. I'm already keyboard first so I could potentially work on #nvim in a terminal but I also love #jetbrains IDE and I'm fine with #VScode. I would like feedback from other devs that achieved that goal. I want to know what setup you have and how comfortable it is. My ultimate setup might be that AR glasses one maybe, the github workspaces are unusable on my small phone. The handheld PC looks nice for how easy it would be to start but looks uncomfortable. IDK. I've been thinking about it for a while.
