Yesterday, a package arrived from Dehradun, India … 

a new figure of Green Tara (a feminine incarnation of the Buddha) to grace my studio’s altar.

I have given thought to the issue of cultural appropriation, but honestly … she does such nice things for my head space that I’ve made peace with my own usage.

After all, as a child I faced years of mental abuse in a pseudo-Christian Lutheran cult;

choosing a deity I can feel happy with is a right I claim for myself.

Here’s the latest shot of my little #GreenTara shrine at the front of the studio.

There’s a better altar cloth arriving by Wednesday that will go in the center, and the one that’s there now will move to the left.

I still need to get art printed for above the monitor …

The image on the screen came up at random from the more than 1,500 backgrounds I’ve gathered – it fits right in with the Green Tara theme! Maybe it’s what the artist had in mind, and I just didn’t realize it.

Since I reconfigured my studio for Dolby Atmos, I’ve been redecorating a bit … 

I’ve turned the front end of the room into something of a #Buddhist shrine.

In particular, I’ve been collecting images of Green Tara, “mother of all Buddhas.”

For Tibetans, she’s the most beloved of all the female awakened beings.

A bit out of character for me, but I think she’s very cool – and a pioneering feminist. Her figure arrived this morning.

My #Buddhist friend is getting her first independent dwelling and I'd like to give her a present. The idea is to find a modern/alternative style picture of #GreenTara. It is almost impossible to wade through AI-generated "#BuddhistArt", so perhaps #Fedihelp?

As she is from Latin America, this kind od style gets double points.
