It's old news now, but back on May 9 I participated in global big day, and really tried to put in an effort for the first time.
I ended up putting in about 14 hours of birding in many different habitats. My tally for the day was 92 species, which is by far the highest number of species I have seen in a single day.
One of my favourite encounters from the day was this Cooper's Hawk at White Lake, which was dining on what I suspect is a Brewer's Blackbird.
